Right, this is my first post. Been viewing the forum for a while and stealthily
just reading what has to be said, so here I go for a change!!

I've been a Birchwood owner for quite a few years now and always been gobsmacked by the lack of any Owners club.
Yes I've heard of the Birchwood classics club as a previous owner of my boat in his bloody good nature, decided to include a good wad of them with the boat info!
Ok my boat may be thirty years old almost, but i've brought my boat into the twenty first century and why not an owners club. Because as far as I know the classics club is snail mail only.

Does anyone know of an online Owners club/Group. Been trawling the net to no avail. Or are we all fairly nomadic by nature?

Ok, its a fair cop.

We hide out in here. No Regrets will be along soon to enthuse about the wonderful Birchwood 25. Nick Cred is another of the bretheren.

There are loads of Birchwood 25s on the Thames, in fact there is a Birchwood Interceptor moored next to my boat, and another Birchwood 25 is moored on the other side!

On the pontoon opposite there is one with no hard top at all, just a windscreen and hood. (Bray marina).

What spec is yours?

My boat, "Carli" has a Sea Panther diesel on shaft.

Now Freeman have got a good owners club, and lots of support from Sheriden Marine.

Good job Birchwood used the same engines & gearboxes!

Welcome Flash, and may I be among the first to congratulate you on your choice of vessel. There are a few exceptionally nice 25's here as Paul said, all active between Bray and Caversham.

The great thing about having a few old Freemans around is that as they gradually sink under the weight of the Osmosis blisters, a good source of spare Gearboxes and stuff becomes available, so hoorah for Freemans!

Anyway....

I would love to set up a simple but attractive forum for Birchwood owners to share piccies and knowledge on, and can have one up and running within a day usually.

If the general consensus is good, I can do it!

Shame Freeman owners are catered for, or they would be more than welcome /forums/images/graemlins/ooo.gif

Oh please no, not another forum, I haven't got time to keep up with them all and although I may not be welcome on the Thames forum, the T does stand for something, and so does the 25 /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Roof off for low bridge clearance

Hi

Slowly but surely Birchwood owners seem to be appearing I asked the same question as you have when I first purchased my 25 Tristan 3 years or so ago. I would love to see a Birchwood owners club. I wrote to the Birchwood Classics guys and received no reply so not even sure it is still running. Agree the point on keeping up with the number of Forums but 100% would like to see a club started.

I managed to blow my old petrol engine up beyond sensible economic repair so she is now on a Nani Diesel 39HP and I am glad we made that decision despite the squealing that came from my wallet at the time.

Hoping to be back on the water in the next week and cant wait

So, doesn't that tell you something? This forum is for Thames/Inland Waters users and you have found some (a few) like minded boaters that you failed to find elsewhere.

Stop worrying about a Torchwood owners group cos unless you get a lot more than you've found to date it will be doomed to failure.

Stick with what you've found here and help build the Thames forum into something valuable for many more boaters than a small marque clique.

There....needed to be said I think .....theres 8,000 cruisers on the Thames and I , for one would like to see them ALL on here ! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Well Hi fellow Boaters. Thanks very much for the welcome.

Anyway, I think i've found the 6th Fleet of Birchwoods on here!

As you say the thames forum has it all really, but it would be good share info on our boats without clogging this forum and boring to death the other boat owners

Hope I haven't opened a can of worms guys

'Birchwood Owners Association' or BOA as it will be known, has just been created.

/forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

OK, the URL is:-

http://birchwoodboats.aceboard.com

You are all welcome to join up, and we can share some happy times!

A photobucket account will follow so we can host images for the forum.

You'll have to give me a few hours to add some forums and customise it, and please suggest a few features if you wish!

I think you will find none of us mind if you clog up the forum talking about your boat /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif I have a Headline Corvette Cruiser and have only been able to find two others in the country /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif If we keep talking about our boats on this forum maybe it will be easier for other owners to find us /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

T25 has come out!!!!!

Looked like you were stealing that boat /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Good video.

Thanks, but just in case, it were my boat all along guv /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Just to clarify. I don't have a problem joining any forum where like minded folk go, but the 'Thames' forum, by its very name, tends to limit itself to, the Thames /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
Inland waterways, on the other hand, would encourage others from rivers all over the country. Mine is currently under renovation, but when I launch again it won't be onto the Thames.
There are other Birchwood 25's (and others) out there, so if the new forum opens I suppose I will have to join that instead /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

I suppose you upgraded to a Broom for the pension book holder and slipper rack.

Oh, I don't know... there are some who get a little antsy about too much Birchwood posting!

Some stuff could be boring for non-Birchwood Owners, although I appreciate many of us will read anything about boats.

Meanwhile, here is a pic of a Nauticus 23 (Our first boat!)
