It won’t, you’re deluded. Whilst we don’t have much info TBH this seems like a rare boat so the likelihood of there being another one is low.
Thanks for your kind words. In case you find your sense of humour before next Christmas, you'll realise my comment was a joke.It won’t, you’re deluded. Whilst we don’t have much info TBH this seems like a rare boat so the likelihood of there being another one is low.
Hmm, it reads smart arse, not joke. Sorry. Thanks for your kind words. In case you find your sense of humour before next Christmas, you'll realise my comment was a joke.
Agreed.Hmm, it reads smart arse, not joke. Sorry.
If the boat qualifies under 744C then no VAT is payable. Presumably the document you have is confirming that the boat is qualifying so no VAT invoice will exist. The builder/seller to first owner is responsible for correctly applying VAT and the original invoice should show the zero rating and their VAT number. However it could well be that they were not VAT registered and absorbed all the input VAT on bought in materials. In that case I would look for evidence that they have an opinion from HMRC that the boat is a qualifying vessel under 744.I'm in the process of buying a 2017 'one owner from new' boat, the agreed purchase price is over £200k, a couple of questions on the scanned paperwork that I've seen so far:
- The VAT certificate is on plain paper and not the boat manufacturers headed notepaper, it has been signed by a director of the company, am I correct in thinking it should be on company headed paper?
- The Bill of Sale is saying 'in consideration of the sum of £xxxxxxx paid by xxxxxx the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged'. The amount paid has been redacted ,am I correct in assuming that when I get the original paperwork it should be in the unredacted form?
The original sales invoice from the builder to the buyer has been requested, but has not been supplied as yet.
The boat was built in the UK, and I intend cruise Europe as well as UK
Thanks all
After due consideration I have decided that on this occasion, I am correct. Warmest regards.Hmm, it reads smart arse, not joke. Sorry.
In my opinion you want to ask for .I'm in the process of buying a 2017 'one owner from new' boat, the agreed purchase price is over £200k, a couple of questions on the scanned paperwork that I've seen so far:

If it is a qualifying vessel under 7444C then VAT will not have been paid because it is exempt. He needs confirmation from HMRC or the builder that it is exempt and not sure the letter on unheaded paper without a VAT number is sufficient. In my opinion you want to ask for .
Original purchase invoice to prove uk vat paid from builder if it was direct or dealer to first and only / current owner .
Any details of a finance agreement past or present if possible .
If it was on finance is it part one registered.
Sounds a bit strange there is no paperwork on a one owner boat .
Make the seller / broker work for his money, if you buy it with little or no paperwork you will end up with all the headaches when you try to sell it , I’ve been there .
