Farewell to the creeks ....

As some of the musical community at WMYC are aware, Black Diamond has abandoned her home in Tollesbury and latterly Mersea for the last 19 years, and headed for the bluer waters of Lyme Bay. Sadly her draft is too deep for Axmouth Harbour, so she'll live on her trailer for the foreseeable and hopefully do the West Country Classics, but Axe Yacht Club has been very welcoming. The club is the home of the Axe One Design, a 12' lapstrake dinghy which races in the shallow Axe estuary and also off the beach if the harbour entrance is running too hard.

It is a wrench to leave my home waters of six decades afloat, and I shall miss the wide skies and lack of rainfall, but I'm also looking forward to new sailing grounds down west.
