Autohelm 2000

Dear All,

I have purchased a boat a few years ago and inherited an Autohelm 2000 (Nautech). It is an old model but seems to be brand new (manual, box, fixtures and fittings, cables, brackets, etc).
Would anyone be able to guide me on what value i could hope to sell it for as i have no use for it.

If it is the really old one with a round compass and separate ram I would say about £100 if you are lucky. These are now about 40 years old. Best to check it works first by putting 12v on the supply and rotating the compass and check the ram moves.
Autohelm 2000 There are some real optimists on Ebay.

Best stick it on eBay, 7-day auction with no reserve. Whatever you get is what it's worth

I'd keep it if I were you, you might use it if you don't already have another tiller pilot. It won't be worth any less if you keep it for a year. Real boat treasure that is...

I have one on my 38 .... its the spare.

I took the rod extension of it and screwed onto my later Autohelm 1000 .... use that instead. Only because I find the button pad system easier and it has a remote.

But I will not sell or pass on that 2000 ... it may be old - but its a strong powerful unit for its size.

Thanks for your replies. I actually have to sell it at this point. I have heard and read that they are great units. I have no use for it so it will have to go.

If anyone knows of a place (other than eBay) where i could have a good chance of moving it, please let me know.
