are you a hanger-on? they operate on a 4MHz frequency so you won't get much joy unless you're pretty close. the frequency will be found on the dial as 4-3 (at least that's how it's labelled on an ICOM set). the organisation like to keep non-payers at bay so their weather forecasts use area code-names of their own devising
I must admit Brian that 2 years ago I was an official NARC.
I just so happened to arrive in Bermuda when the ARC was doing the return leg.
Off air everyone was most helpful and shared info freely but the moment the management were within earshot everything was strictly top secret.
Great fun though!

Yes I was there in 2002 too.I was sailing my Hunter 34 back to the Med singlehanded.I left Burmuda a little ahead of the ARC and ran into the bad weather midway alittle under 40 degrees north.I think I was very lucky as the only damage I had was all my flags blew away and the cooker rocked itself off its gimballs.
I think the sight of Horta after 16 days was the most welcome landfall I've ever had! I certainly couldnt find this calm Azores high everybody told me about.
All good fun though!
Did you have a good crossing when you put out again?
