hihi re filters.........i see a lot of questions on filtration i thought this might be of some help.......
three questions u have to ask....
one.....is the thread the same size...
two.....does it have a valve inside
three....does it have an anti. valve inside..
and lastly ......does it fit ....physically.....
indeed a crosslands 368 is 79mm by 91mm m20x1.5 thread..rel valve no ant valve
.............crosslands 672 is 80.5mm by78.5 m20x1.5 thread..rel valve no ant valve
now we could sit here all day and swap the numbers in coopers, fram,alco.champion,tj......etc etc etc .....but if it fits dont worry about it.
the most important thing that u should do is change it ...and change it often....as with the oil too........ you do pay more in a marina etc for filters....for example both the above filters should retail in a car spares shop for £4-£5....don t use halfords they dont have the quality in their own brand. but any of the above makes do.
theres alot of confussion out there but suffice to say its not like coffee.....there's one manufacture that makes an awful lot filters in Wales for other people to stamp their own name on.
best advice is min twice a year change oil n filter....use a 10-40 semi synthetic oil...total cost of both about £20-£25.....less acid in engine = less wear= more compression=less breakdowns.
good luck
