advice from my lawyer suggested I place a notice below the water line warning that any marine creature taking up residence on my hull will result in procecution.
Do you think this will work in this legal age we live in?

don\'t do it!

You're just laying yourself open to prosecution for discrimination against underprivelidged organisms. Just because they only have one brain cell each and no gainful employment doesn't mean you can do what you want, you know. If you are foolish enough to leave your boat unattended for days on end then they have a right to take up residence, as long as they don't cause any criminal damage.

What you have to do is serve them with an official notice to quit then take them to your local barnacle court if they fail to leave. They will have to undergo counselling, and be re-trained to live on the underside of pontoons and mooring buoys before you can finally get rid of them. Any attempt to use noxious chemicals or a pressure washer will result in six months in clink for you, boyo.

Upstream could try Penarth Marina, they have a reputation for getting rid of unwanted organisms.
