I am looking for a small manual windlass for use on our 8.5 m Lemsteraakyacht (Dutch traditional vessel). In a dusty corner I found a nice small WK674 from Moyle Marine Products from Woking. However the gypsy is too small (6mm chain instead of 8 mm what I need). Possibly it could be replaced by a larger one, but Moyle Marine seems to heve disappeared from Woking. Anybody knows its current position (if any)? Or knows an alternative windlass (ca 10x20 cm footplate and 15 cm height)?

Unfortunately, Moyle stopped making parts for the Marine market some 15 to 20 years ago, and all the spare parts were scrapped at least 10 years ago. They were good quality windlasses, and the design is very good - simple yet powerful, and the anchor can be wound in very quickly.

Sorry, but I havn't found an equivalent

I had same probelm with my Moyle Tiger. The chandlery barge on The Hamble had a bin full of gypsies, and one fitted just right. Some time ago, mind you.

I am not familiar with that make. May I recommend you post a link to pictures of your windlass then maybe if I or someone sees one at a second hand sale we can get back to you.
