You can buy lithium AA rechargeable with built in usb ports.. ebay.

Or you can get them w/o ports but then have to use distinct chargers. Mine charges 8 AAs (or AAAs) at once. But if the USB shows a state-of-charge that would be a plus...

Just check that any charger you get can individually charge. Many will only charge two at a time which leads to huge issues with rechargeables, especially if you have devices with an odd number of batteries.

Can't be bothered with rechargables - I get my Energiser long life AA and AAA's from Robert Dias. Last for ages!

I wish the manufacturers would declare the mAh rating of their batteries, if they did one could determine whether it's worth paying the premium for "Long Life" batteries or for the premium brands.

Beware that it seems common for these new Lithium AAs to cite mWh instead of mAh to exploit the 50% increase due to their delivering 1.5V, just like alkaline batteries.

Well, my grandchildren this xmas will not be getting their hands on my posh lithium rechargeables .
