I would have thought "no" Ken.

If the engines running then you have all the flexibility of manouvre that this brings - which I assume is what it's all about.

I can't quite see the ambiguity you mention - perhaps you could enlighten me.

I recall somewhere in the dim and distant past it remains a sailing vessel until it's in gear, then you have to run and hoist a cone and behave like a stinkie.
