Ok, I have tried to pick a few obscure 1 & 2 liners from a few older songs which I am sure a few of you can come up with the answers. I don't think that these will all be easy for all you old gits, so get yer thinking caps on and yer flairs & platform shoes oot, and I dinna jis mean the wimmin.

1. Out to pasture, think it's safe to say,
Time to open fire

2. Drinkin' and sinkin', I'm feelin' alright

3. The town clock in the market square, stands waiting for the hour
when it's hands they both turned backwards, and all meaning will devour
(personal favourite, that one)

4. LA fever made me feel alright, but I admit it got the best of me

5. She was far away, I found it hard to reach her
she told me "you could try", but it's imposible to find her

6. So think your having a good time, with a boy that you just met
kicking sand from beach to beach and your clothes are soaking wet

7. With the way that you left me I can hardly contain
the hurt and the anger and the joy of the pain

8. Your too old to lose it, too young to chose it
and the clock waits so patiently on your song

9. Well I can see no reason, your living on your nerves

10. if I had these golden dreams of my yesterdays

Well, difficult or not? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

I wish you could post excel spreadsheets here. I've got one where there are 270 odd photos of bands from across the decades. You type in what group you think it is under the photo, , and it says correct or not. Been at it 2 weeks so far, and got about 85 of them! <sigh>

Yeah yeah, before anyone suggests it, I know you can hack the password, but I'm trying to do it the hard way

Try these . . .

1/ When you shot them dressed in black
How to pull these triggers back

2/ It seems the peacefuls stopped the war
Left generals squashed and stifled

3/ I've got a cloak, it's a bit of a joke
There's a tear up the front, it's red and black, I've had it for months

4/ Uranian Sircus is on it's way to town!"

5/ His magic black purse slit creeped open,
Let go flocks of them

6/ Stuck in some barroom 'round closing time
Drinking straight tequila with salt and lime

7/ Raising it up, waxing it down
In a little white box I can sell uptown

8/ There was a senator from Ecuador
Who talked about a meteor

9/ She seems like a tropical fish to me
But you can't kid me its like that back in Sydney

10/ Take a look around and see the warnings close at hand
Already weeds are writing their scriptures in the sand

Re: Try these . . .

All OK 'cept no.6, which I reckon is Mallard - She's Long and She's Lean

Good grief, we're both brilliant at this - must be someone else's turn . . .

Ian, want to swap spreadsheets. H00 is running out of steam too now, and ColinS has added a few. We must have quite a bit of overlap unless we've all answered the same ones, which I rather doubt

I also have a spreadsheet pop quiz but it may have come from here in the first place. PM emails and I'll send it out.

I've done bugger all - too busy watching rugby, sorting out club membership mailing, and hunting down a satellite picture of a house in Krakow (see tonner thread in PBO forum - 100+ posts in 24 hours, and good fun entitled 'guys and gals fill in your details or something like that) and seeing dearly beloved and kiddies, to spend much time on it.

h00 though has steamed through to nearly 200 from my initial start of 88 ish, displaying that he obviously watches too much MTV.

He can either forward to you directly, or send me latest update and I'll forward to you, but would love to get a copy of IanPoole2's copy to compare and contrast.
