6 metre racing

Apparently the first race organized for six 6 metre racing boats took place in the Ria de Pontevedra .The retired king of Spain wa aboard one of the yachts which are yachts that have been restored locally or shipped in from as far as Canada.Watching from the shore in a light drizzle it didn't seem to be a crowed puller but obviously important to the participants that are err extremely well off....... they enjoyed a nice nosh up supplied my the naval academy a.Local sailors normally enjoy sailing between meals.

The six metres raced at Falmouth classics a couple of years ago but it wasn't quite as flash as you describe. Nevertheless the cost of keeping one of those boats in good racing Nick means the owners are a bit better off than the average club racer. Orxat least they start a bit better off!

Not in the same league as the J yachts we get.
