All,
I recently got a Foxcub 18 that was a rescue project. It came with some sails but I don't think they were for this boat.
It has 3 mains, they all fit 'ok' but boom is very low with them on, but it works fine. The jibs however are all very small.
There are 2 which are more the size of storm jibs, only go about 1/2 way up the forestay and about 80% of the J value (also very angled away from the deck).
The other jib is nearly 100% of the J measurement but only goes up 3/4 was to the mast head. Its a masthead sloop rig,
I looked but can't find a definitive measurement on the foxcub 18 jib size. I think the J measurement is about 8 ft., I haven't actually measured but I think that's right.
I've got this calc from GPT but not sure I can order off this. This is me looking for a 110% jib
The Foxcub 18 is an 18-foot masthead sloop designed by Uffa Fox and built by Copland Boats between 1972 and 1984. It is known for its stability, ease of handling, and good performance in various wind conditions. For the specifications of a 110% jib, typical details include the following:
Does anybody know if this is the correct length?
Anybody know where I can get a cheap or 2nd hand jib for it.
I only plan to keep it for 1 year, and I don't want to spend big on a head sail that I won't get my money back on,
Thanks
