Hi All,
It is off a 1984 Nauticat 43 (the manufacturer has gone bust so can't ask them). Looks like a commercially available toe rail. The stanchion base looks to have two bolts only that bolt onto the rail and I cant see one that goes down into the deck. The base is a fitted item that slots...
Yes an option. Possibly build out of marine ply and paint with epoxy.
But I don’t regard 10 years at a lot for a RIB, pretty shoddy quality really. I think the problem is a combination of the transom made out of bog standard plywood sheathed in a plastic covering that brilliant managed to...
Hi all
The wooden transom on my 10 year old Bombard AX300 rib has completely rotted out. So I have removed it (it was just mush) and want to replace it with a plastic transom of some sort. Can anyone who knows about plastics recommend what I should be looking at? Ideally something that PVC glue...
Hello BotleyBuoy
My view would be to avoid this engine. The parts situation will only get worse rather than better. I had a genny with an ancient Faryman diesel and parts got harder and harder to find. I bought every scrap engine I could find on ebay for parts. I replaced impossible to find...
Hi
As Dom says, you should use this as an opportunity to look again at your capacity and charging arrangements. Having replaced all of my batteries and chargers, in summary this is what I did:
3x BP Rolls AGM 210AH deep cycle batteries - very expensive and very good quality
2 x Optima red top...
Yes as Paul says.
I have fitted panels with those connectors and if you have more than one panel you connect them in series, otherwise the leads just come back to the controller. To get through the coachroof, i used one of these waterproof cable glands...
When i installed a new 6.5kw genny in 2016, i thought a water/exhaust separator would be a good idea to remove the annoying splash-splash of the exhaust. This unit did that nicely, but due to the configuration of my boat, it was installed in a cupboard in a cabin and it was just too noisy for...
My tank had lots of baffles. it would not have been possible to access all of it to clean it or make a repair let alone fit a liner. Also I fear that you might find the inside of your tank in a similar state to mine...
Good luck but sadly I think you are only delaying the inevitable. 550 litres is a lot of diesel to risk sloshing in your bilges.
I had 2 x 550 tanks in my Nauticat 43. I didn't have a leak but as I was pulling the boat apart decided to replace them as they were full of crap and I couldn't seem...
Before spending a lot of money on new outboards, I do advise you to try some new props first (or at least do some research into what pitch/diameter you have at the moment.).
If they are the standard props that came with the engines when new, they are almost certainly designed for a planing...
