    Bombard Inflatable

Many thanks for contact details. It seems that the glue is suffering old age and therefore I will have to get the pot out!

    Bombard Inflatable

I have an AX3 which although 15 years old is lightly used, spent most of its life in the locker. Whilst the tubes are in fine condition there has been severe glue failure where the floor webbing is stuck to the tubes. In fact the floor has parted from the side tubes for approx 2 feet on both...

    Battery Pack

I have found a replacement battery for my Icom hand held radio but the chemistry is NIMH. Can anyone explain how this differs from NiCd and whether the NIMH is likely to be a suitable replacement? Many thanks.

Charter boat hits sill in Guernsey - what to do?

On 2 occassions chartering in France the charter company has sent down a diver to inspect keel on returning the boat. This seems to be standard practice with some companies.

    2nd Poole Bridge.

Not wishing to be too negative but it is difficult to understand how a new lifting bridge is going to significantly assist with traffic congestion. As far as I am aware the old bridge will continue to operate therefore two bridges will have to be lifted to let yachts pass from and to Cobbs...

    Boat jumbles

Jumbles are a real mix from tat to new and can be good fun. They range from pukka trade stands, boxes of rusty grot, and perhaps most interestingly, private stands selling unwanted and spare items. There are also stands that would be more at home at the car boot, ie they having nothing to do...

    Anchor Specs

Can anyone direct me to a source that shows recommended weights of various anchors for boat size (LOA 32')? Have found Bruce site but would like to consider other options. I currently have a 15kg CQR which is a good anchor but is too bulky to fit in anchor locker and a pig to thread through the...

    Lifebouy and light

Steve Let's hope you never have to use it but the light should be tied to the string attached to the horseshoe. In the event of man overboard you throw the horseshoe with the light into the water - the horseshoe is not attached to the boat. The light will right itself in the water and will...

    Chartering

Does anyone have any details or experience of yacht charters from St Malo? Having attempted an internet search have - so far - found only one company. Cheers!

    Hull cleaning

Any tips for cleaning brown staining on and around the water line? I have used Y10 gel which is very good at disolving most of the stain. However some minor discolouration remains and refuses to shift. Does anyone have a magic formula?

    Hull Cleaner

It is sad but the season is drawing to a close and thoughts go to laying up. Does anyone have any experience of using traffic film remover to clean the hull? If it works it has to be a lot cheaper than buying a bottle of something with "boat" in the name.
