Dielette - Carrying Coles to Newcastle?

"Dielette is a small artificial harbour situated some 11 miles south of Cap de la Hague. It is not a particularly good harbour, but the temporary anchorage is useful in offshore winds when awaiting a fair tide through Alderney Race or along the coast. Yachts should only use the anchorage or harbour in offshore winds or settled conditions."

And a personal thankyou from the author on the flyleaf.

It's changed a bit in thirty years Ken . . .

Don't forget the free bus to and from Les Pieux. Don't get off at Flamanville cos it sounds nicer like we did!

No free bus anymore! The local taxi drivers put pay to that! Now you have to call a taxi. We got a lift to Le Pieux but had to taxi back E12!

Re: No!

got back home this am having swapped crew in dielette yesterday- echo etap owner comment that sadly the free mini bus that used to run crews to and from les pieux no longer included - according to harbour master office it is because of improved shop for provisions - in fairness taxi service was excellent - booked via tourist info office by harbour master office - very smart 7 passenger mpv and costs us about 11e each way - better still the intermarche supermarket now in a bigger new building so handy to stock up - have changed crew last 2 years at dielette and recommend it

Re: Facilities at Dielette

Thanks for that, useful info.

Enough room for something 28'3" x 21'6" x 8'1" x 5' designed by Chris Holman presumably?
