    no' plate for your car

She cant remember what they wrote on the ticket, it was only about £20 or £30 though, back when she was 18. We're talking about a woman who didn't know that her car needed an MOT until she was pulled over for having a car that hadn't had an MOT for 2 1/2 years. Who bought a new car and, when I...

    Shore power electric costs.

I don't know the exact cost per unit. But I had to pay £30 for the meter and shoreline and then it's bill quarterly with no service charge. I thought £30 was a bit steep until I realised I could take the shore line with me rather than have to buy my own when away.

    no' plate for your car

My wife received a ticket for having "show plates" in her boot that had unacceptable spacing, italics and background. The (Scottish) Police did her because her number plates were Velcro'd on and the show plates had corresponding Velcro. Supposedly they had reports her car had been seen with...

    Fenders - Inflating/Replacement

Got my mooring lines from them. A steal really. 10m lines in their auction for half the price of 6m ones. Don't need 10m but can't knock it. I always check them out before going anywhere else. Morton Boats sometimes has decent prices too.

    Fenders - Inflating/Replacement

Given that I have a slight OCD towards things being even and SWMBO has a OCD towards symmetry, I now have even bigger problems. LoL. Of the 6 tube fenders there are 2 different designs, 1 isn't the same size as the other 5. More alarmingly, I have one white ball and one blue ball and one is...

    Dragons Den Last Night

Theo was really close to giving him what he wanted. But it got a bit complicated because the chap already had an investor and in order to get his investment he was knocking back the other investers %tage so he kept 51% overall. He did say he is in the process of fulfilling 46 orders and Go...

    Dragons Den Last Night

My concern would be that if you buy the motor or the sail kit, you will need the space in your new boatbox to accommodate those bits of kit - therefore negating the benefits of buying it for extra space. Also, the bit that stays on the car roof will fill with rainwater when the boat isn't on...

    Dragons Den Last Night

Did anyone see Dragons Den last night? This was one of the things seeking investment. Boat Box Car Roof Box I couldn't decide whether it was a good idea or not. I personally don't need a tender and I don't want a miniature sailing boat. But is the idea of having your tender on the roof of...

    Fenders - Inflating/Replacement

Just been to check the boat this morning and I noticed a few of my fenders look like they are crumpled in. I think its because of the cold, it was around 0c when I was there. I also think its made worse because they might be under inflated. I don't know how old the fenders are because they...

    no' plate for your car

In reality its worth whatever someone is willing to pay for it. I saw mine on a website about 9 years ago for £750. I offered £500 but was willing to pay up to £650 and a couple of days later the broker got back to me and said the seller had accepted. Most of the DVLA issued ones start at...

    EA River level data

The EA river level FAQ says: 17. What period of record is the maximum recorded level based on? The maximum recorded level has been identified from the full period of level record. In a few cases, where there have been significant changes in datum and this was clear in the level record the...

    River levels; other inland waterways

Just as an update... The Brayford Pool is now back to normal levels and the sunk boat has been successfully refloated. I still don't know what happened, but there is no damage to the hull that I could see today so I'm assuming it was tied too tight and got pulled under. River Witham...

    River levels; other inland waterways

In no way did I think you were trying to mock me. With your explanation I formulated my bucket analogy to take out the variables between our two locations and make a generalisation. Now I understand how it works. The AOD thing that you explained is essentially what level above sea level that...
