    Spanish coding

There are charter sailing yachts ( 10 - 18m) working out of here (Valencia) with non-Spanish flags, Polish, Dutch and probably others. They do appear to have Spanish crew, which may be a requirement despite the flag. My advice would be to ask at your local Capitainerie as I believe they issue...

I don't know about trips, but again I will ask. The cable I purchased is rated 450/750V and is 2.5mm squared. Thanks for all your advice so far, and I will seek advice from an expert. M.

This is the front view of the 63 Amp single phase plug. (It will fit the marina receptacle - I know because I have a plug/cable/adaptor on loan from the marina and it is the same) In the images above, the L2 pin is also marked 'Earth' Thanks for your suggestions. M.

    shore power plug wiring

Our marina has stopped us using the 15amp outlets which are on the other side of the main pontoon, which has smaller berths, citing safety issues with cables crossing the walkway. Consequently, as we are on a 20m berth, we have to connect to a 63 Amp single phase receptacle, the only type on...

Not quite single line reefing - why?

We recently had a bad experience with our reefing system. Apart from the usual problem of trying to reef too late (I thought she was going well – other half was a bit nervous - to say the least  ), it was very difficult to winch in the reefing lines. Anyway, after safely reaching our...

    Understanding AIS

There you go How often do AIS transponders broadcast position and static information reports? Transponders send out position updates based on the speed over ground (SOG) of the vessel and updates occur at different intervals depending on whether a Class A or Class B transponder is used...
