Which way round?

I have just received some very nice fender covers made by a firm in would you believe it, Cannes. These are top of the range covers, hand finished by seamstresses on the Mediterranean coast . They are even supplied with a Bureau Veritas certificate ( the covers that is?). However, they do not come with instructions and thus my question. One end of the cover has a wide elasticated neck, (no drawstring), obviously to pass over the fender; the other end has a plain hole. Which way up would you fit it? M.

I've never owned any fender socks but I would think the elasticated end should be at the bottom. Then if the elastic degrades and fails you wont lose the sock.

Yes. The small hole to pass the rope through and the elastic holds it down and stretched.

Fenders and their socks can take quite a lot of punishment. You may find that the elasticated end will slide up the fender. I have line at top and a drawstring at the bottom
