Is there a set date they come in? I’d love to do the Ore/Alde in the next few weeks but realise time is running out…
Oh I was pleasant and polite, little point being otherwise. I didn't need an ops manager though, just someone who knew the answer to a straightforward question. Given that (I think) the buoys come out end of next week, I'd have thought there'd be someone in that great and august body (said genuinely and without sarcasm) who'd know.Major, to be fair and a little kind the person you talked to they were probably just a message taker not operations manager.
I know it must seem frustrating but perhaps what goes on on the water is not necessarily conveyed to the receptionist.
The Ore buoyage is removed and replaced around the clock changes I think. Probably when they get round to it on a list?
Don't pounce on me, just thinking maybe try another approach. Perhaps Harwich Lifeboat coxswain has the mobile number of the
skipper who does this?
Sadly not. I spoke to John before calling TH as he said he wasn't responsible for their removal. The reason that I suggested the OP call the HM at the Ferry, John White, is that he is commissioned by Trinity House to lay and remove the buoys. So I expect he already has a date for the removal.
Oh! I stand corrected, then, sorry about the misinformation. I always understood his deputy actually did the job.Sadly not. I spoke to John before calling TH as he said he wasn't responsible for their removal.
The receptionist should be able to pass the enquiry to the relevant department who have the information if it's not possible to simply pass the caller on to them telephonically; "We don't know" is not a satisfactory response from a statutory body in this instance.Major, to be fair and a little kind the person you talked to they were probably just a message taker not operations manager.

That's disgraceful; I've had similar non-response from Clydeport. High time there was an independent audit and complaint path for statutory bodies in the UK, too often they're a law unto themselves. It's (mostly)not malicious, it's just complacent bureaucracy that is not accountable enough.I mailed Trinity House asking the exactly the same question in March.
Not heard anything back yet.
