WILL THAT REMOVE JUST THE PIN INSERT OR THE OUTER BRASS HOUSING AS WELL...IS IT THREADED.It’s slotted to accommodate a flat bladed screw driver. Use an appropriately sized screwdriver to remove it carefully.
Float valves are a floating fit.
Invert and tap on a hard surface.
Think Jamie is talking about main jet
the problem is that the valve is solid shut inside the brass casing.
Is there any way to extract as a unit before releasing. Is the casing screwed into the body or is it a push fit
ok that makes sense will try some releasing agent on it to see if can free valve.Judging from the parts diagram the valve seat is pressed into the carb body and not available separately, the valve is available.
My mistake, the photo seemed to be looking at the jet. If the float needle is stuck, as you say. Or hook it out with needle nose pliers.Float valves are a floating fit.

Many thanks for your helpMy mistake, the photo seemed to be looking at the jet. If the float needle is stuck, as you say. Or hook it out with needle nose pliers.
Youll need a new one anyway so no need to worry about damaging it. These aluminium valves are quite prone to corrosion. Wouldn't it have been better to make them from brass? How do I remove the valve without damaging it.
That was a terrible photoMy mistake, the photo seemed to be looking at the jet. If the float needle is stuck, as you say. Or hook it out with needle nose pliers.
managed to get needle free. That was a terrible photo
The diaphragms seem to be in tact but I guess they could still be faulty. That is a fuel pump; it may need a new diaphragms(35 and 37 on the diagram) or valves(39).
thank you for the explanation, much appreciated. They need to be quite flexible; if they've gone hard it's probably time for new ones. The valves need to be working too. The pump works via the crankcase pressure which fluctuates between vacuum and pressure, wobbling the diaphragms in and out.
Yes, give it all a good skooshing with a tin of carb cleaner. The float bowl appears to have a layer of varnish from evaporated fuel. Make sure you clean out the jets as these may be partially blocked
