Solent , and in particular Newtown Creek on a glorious summer week.....but not the weekend unless you get there early friday! Miss that place a lot!
Funny choice, If I may say so. If the Belgian coast is your home waters, almost any other place is more pretty. Of course if good food and an endless choice of beers play a role, I see your point. Not the Uk, but it has to be Ostend every time. I often stopped for several weeks at a time when covid permitted.
Handy as a stopping off place for the Dutch canals which has to be on anyone's list.
...
Shingly and sandy but great once dug in. Obviously it needs to be wind and swell in the right direction for a comfortable night, so after a few days of calm easterly then anything northerly it’s great.Wow, what's the seabed like there?
I actually prefer Jersey to Guernsey, but I go into St Aubin rather than St H.Love the West Country and the Channel Islands (though not so much Jersey - don't know why).

Local favourite is Lulworth.
Alderney is my favourite CI.
Beach just by the harbour.
The whole island has a sort of unhurried, old-world charm.
But there is so much to do. The paulusfesten is one attraction lasting a week, which I try to go to. The beach is excellent. Harbour walk is fun in the sun. The sands sculptures. TheAtlantikwall Raversyde is well worth an afternoon. the coastal trail to Blankenburg ( I go by bike), cycle round the parks, the town itself. Tour the Mercator,The RNSYC for a chat to the members every lunch time over a beer. Watching the activities in the marina. My wife did the committee boat work for the Belgian national Dragon champs one year. Then there was the Belgian barBQ championships. Really big music events, Beer festival, shopping experience, Crystal Maze walk. markets in the town & sea front. Sit & have a coffe in the square watching the street artists or the brass band playing in the bandstand. Great place for the bikes. Train to Brugge for a day. Tram to Nieuport. Like you said one can find endless places to dine with an endless range of foods & prices. My young grandson enjoys it so it can be considered good for kids . I normally spend most of the time on my own, with my family visiting for a couple of weeks or more . My son sometimes rents a flat so we can all be there as a group. Casual visitors do not actually explore the place & things to do properlyFunny choice, If I may say so. If the Belgian coast is your home waters, almost any other place is more pretty. They were but I am not so sure that I want to go to Boulogne just yet flying an ensign with french fishermen the opposite side of the harbour. In addition my nice leisurly cruise to Cameret & back each year will have to be a bit curtailed if i want to do Ostend & Middleburgh afterwards. 90 days tends to come a bit quick if the weather does not play ballOK Guys. Time for a Soppy Comment:
Aren't we amazingly lucky to be blessed with so many fantastic sailing destinations, many within reasonable reach/distance?

I was hoping that no one would mention it, but this was my favourite hidden harbour - thinking you must have the wrong place, then wondering what the fuss is about - until you turn that last corner.Like the west country, my favourite is probably the Yealm
easy to circumnavigate Guernsey in a day on a bicycle. Don't need a bus.Jersey has an excellent bus service, which makes it a good base for a few days or more. I have found the harbour staff helpful too, especially when I needed to dry out on two occasions.
The Hebrides, without any doubt. The doubting begins when you have to pick a spot. Today’s choice: Gometra Harbour and Wizzard Pool, South Uist. Tomorrow‘s?
I have done that. Unfortunately, it was a Sunday and when we turned up at a hotel bar they weren't allowed to serve us a drink unless we also had a meal, which we didn't want, having already eaten.easy to circumnavigate Guernsey in a day on a bicycle. Don't need a bus.
