How does that work? Aren’t you racing a modern boat? Genuine question, I’ve no idea how racing categories work but I would’ve assumed a JPK would not be in the same class as a 70s IOR boat.…What I mostly took from this video is that I'm probably going to spend the next decade chasing the bloody thing, as it's likely to be in the same class as us for a lot of events, and he's a very good sailor with an extensive list of very good sailors to crew for him....
Depends on the rating. We race against 70s IOR boats all the time, splits are only really done by rating, so if they rate within about 30-40 points we'll often end up in the same class. How does that work? Poignard has already put a bid in for the lot with the aim of making a killing on the resale. If his mountain of crap went on our for sale forum…he would make a fortune
He was talking about crewing that boat in the seventies....so he must be our age....but doesn’t look it![]()
There’s a fully functional one, at least to external appearances, at the River Yar boatyard. Afloat, that is, on their pontoon. We go past her every trip out. I have never seen anyone on board, or seen her absent from her berth.Great post. I have only ever seen one of these, alongside in Vannes about 10 years ago, our local correspondents may be able to confirm if it is still there.
Like most boats on marinas. Other than fishing boats and regular racers perhaps.I have never seen anyone on board, or seen her absent from her berth.

Someone had altogether too much blether juice methinks
I found that last night too. Dunno how much of a project it really is. Like all boats bought as a project, it’s a question of how far you want to take it, too.
Not at all the same thing. That was David Alan-Williams design from the 80s: a sort of scaled up contessa 32.
