Can't argue with any of it and will try to send pics of a Liberty - just for balance..

balance..... be hanged

I shall leave that to a Liberty sailor to do their own words and pix

it is hard to beat the gunter rig

a Minstrel is a much superior boat to a Liberty - apart from the pole in the middle of the berth that is

If only I could grasp the way to post pickiest I don't think I would ask for money i5s not like submitting an article of how to make a folding cockpit table out of used plastic bottles or rebuilding the cutty Sark single handed ....

first you have to put them on the web somewhere else

on a hosting site

loads to choose from

https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=i...-8&oe=utf-8&gws_rd=cr&ei=OOUnVobnLcnda4Whk8AM

then you embed them in the copy on here

about the money thing ..... there is an alternative -

Forum software and hosting is quite minimal to begin with -

then you have to build and market the community - call it something like www.notybw.com

and nurture it so it becomes no 1 uk sailing forum - then you have a little cash cow profiting via advertising from all the user generated content... whoever does all this then gets the money and this forum becomes derelict.

As it is at the moment Timeinc are profiting from the UGC (users content) and trying to get you to do more.

I don't care that much but do like and prefer independently owned and operated web publishing - like wot Dylan does !

I love useful advice

I am all ears

Leaving aside your natural reticence to accept advice, there are lots of ways in which you can profit from blogging. You'll find advice (if you're prepared to heed it) on the internet ("t'interweb"). Seriously, people are making a living out of this, so don't arbitrarily dismiss it, unless you can't be bothered.

I'm a Liberty owner but can't argue from experience never having sailed a Minstrel. I'll grant you they look better but much superior seems a bit steep though given it's the same hull

Regardless I will try to send some pics

thats the ticket

as for better - the rig is better

much more flexible risg and mast is easier to drop and also live with when the mast is down

I understand Liberties also had a bit of a problem with the masts snapping off

finally - when motoring sitting with your feet in the bow well is a wonderful place to be to get away from the infernal Tohatsu clatter

The days when pictures were worth any money have long gone.

That depends on the picture....I'm happy to report my photos are still worth money.

While it's true that every man and his monkey has a digital camera, and there's no end to the queue of fools trying to undercut each other for 'exposure', it's still a case that the weakest link in the photographic chain is often the photographer.

People still appreciate a quality imagery when they are given a chance to see it, and I like to think my work stands out from the crowd.

But image theft on t'interweb is a big issue.

There are loads of bloggers making a good living from it, you just need to sort yourself out.

Bloggers who make a living from it are a) primarily in the US, and b) blog something with a big readership. Generally, the most successful UK blogs are mummy & lifestyle bloggers -Zoella et al, with food a distant second. Don't know about blokey tech stuff, but I believe the guys doing the minecraft videos are doing ok. Good living from a sailing blog? No.
