Its just like real ocean / long distance racing (at least if you're the navigator) make your decision and hope for the following few days that it will pay off....and worry about what the crew will do if it doesn't!

I know it is 2300Nm off .... but are we having a party for Neptune when we cross the equator? Do we have to sit (in the office?!) pooring baked beans over ourselves and generally humiliating ourselves? /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

I think you only get to humiliate equator 'virgins'.

I remember crossing the line in the early 60s on board the Bloomfontein Castle and later the Rhodesia Castle. Beautiful working ships not like these modern floating casinos.
