Yanmar 4JH4E fuel oi filters.

Hi All,
do you have a source for fuel and oil filters for the my Yanmar 4JH4E. I do not want to pay for OEM parts.
regards RPP

There's a fair few sources but you need to find the equivalent part numbers. I got them originally from an auto factors. A lot of Yanmars use the same filters as Honda, but I don't know if that's true for the 4JH 4E.

I could tell you what I use for the 4JH 2BE so if you can find anything to say that the part numbers for your engine are the same as mine I can let you have some examples of equivalents I've used. Once you've got them it's easy to find the equivalents of the equivalents.

This a parts list I found on the web, it's not complete, but it's a start.
If you find anymore equivalent parts, could you please add them to the list and post?

I've bought filters from ASAP and yacht boat parts (http://www.yachtboatparts.com) and more generally on the Internet, they are all common filter and vary widely in price and perhaps quality.

Anyone got the part no? Yanmar 4jh4 series.
I fetched the filter home but it only has the makers name, no ID numbers.
I think the part number was on the box which is still on the boat and I wont be back there for 2 weeks.

Help...............

Aren't the part number I posted in post #4 what you need?

The Yanmar part number for the fuel filter is: 129470-55702-12 and the Fram equivalent is: P5157
for the oil filter the Yanmar part number is: 129150-35152-12 and there are three equivalents, NAPA 1064, Fram PH3593A, and Baldwin B488.
You'll find cross references to other makes online.

Thank you-we have just changed boats and it happened very fast. I was familiar with the correct alternatives for the 38hp 3 cylinder Yanmar but not yet up to speed with the new one.

We used five Racor elements and two Yanmar fuel filters on our 4 1/2 day delivery trip from Gloucester Docks to Gosport at a cost of around £150.00! If you take into account chucking away 750 litres of heavily bugged diesel, cleaning the tank plus the enviromental charge for disposing of the contaminated stuff and refilling the tank it came out at the thick end of a Grand!

Saflely on our mooring now and as soon as we get back from a long planned visit to Germany and Czech the boat will be a prority.

Especially getting some filters at the right price........................
