At the weekend, pottering about, I put a coat of Trilux antifoul on me outdrive.
Looked OK and was dry to the touch after about an hour.
About 4 hours later, I put another lavish coat on before jumping in the car and dashing back home for a nice sunday evening beer or two.
Thought I'd retrieve one or two invoices from the boat this evening as I am planning on bringing the maintenance records up to date and the antifoul has gone all wrinkly on top of the anti ventilation plate and slightly wrinkly on other horizontal bits.
All the vertical bits like the prop, the sides of the gear housings and the skeg are fine.
Wots gone wrong and would you sand it off and start again or since its going to be underwater in a week or so, leave it be?
Max speed on the river is 6 knots, so its not likely to be stripped away by the water rushing by.
Am I being too anal about the appearance?
Has to be said, despite getting dirty fingernails in the motor industry for 25 years, I am bloody hopeless at painting and spraying. Never goes according to plan.
