Nice day yesterday, ran down to Hampton Court and moored up for afternoon. (h4nym cruised past on his way to his barby but ignored us completely.)
Anyway, had a bit of a pas de deux about wot to do for din dins cos didnt want to leave Bogbrush on board on his own (aaaahhh) so decided to risk losing mooring and took boat across to Fox on The River. SWMBO tells me big cheer when I did good job of arriving but I didnt hear it cos concentrating or just plain bloody deaf. Anyway, no tables free so sat with nice guy called Richard who has Fairline and may join forum cos I told him to.
Cut long story short kept being told no dogs allowed on patio but managed to blog it out until after got fed. Then manager turned up and said he thort he'd heard dog but couldnt see one so thort hearing fings (good wheeze with small dog cos can stuff it up your jumper). Any way, he said notice on way in so we said didnt come that way cos on boat ! haha......got hom there so bet next time we go there'll be notice on jetty and all due to Bogbrush so he'll be famous.
Anyway, we left then and went back across river but some b*st*rd had nicked our space so cruised further down past Kingston and thort ok stop at Teddington and THEN it happened............
Just passing Leander Sea Scouts HQ on Surrey bank when loud bang on side of boat...looked round and realised crowd of yobs on bank were throwing stones/rocks/bits of brick at us and other boats passing. Got hit a second time before getting clear. No damage but quite frightening and could have been bl**dy dangerous if broken windscreen or whatever. Vented anger by screaming something unrepeatable but VERY effective that was going to be.
Saw EA River Inspector on launch patrol this morning and advised them for info.
But......what would you have done.............

Oh yes....just to make it even more bl**dy annoying an hour later b*st*rd who nicked our space at Hampton Court turned up at Teddington so if we'd stayed in pub another hour we could have stayed at Hampton Court !!!

Talking from a person who shoots for a hobby point of view......thats a really brain dead suggestion. Not only are you breaking the law for having an air rifle in a public place out of a slip/case, but leaving yourself wide open for prosection and a min of fives years in the slammer if you use it!.

I do agree though, the little twats do deserve it at times. Puts my back right up what the little shits get away with!

Thought of the photo idea straight away but getting dark and too far away for flash to help. Also only had compact digicam, not big b*gg*r with long lenses. S'pose flash going off might have given em a bit of a fright but I doubt it...........

pitty about the trouble happened to a mate of mine at cookham, littel sod dropped lighted fag on his cover, burnt a hole in it too.

Time to go back to fitting forward and aft gun turrets I think. But the camera is deffo the best bet, could alway use a spot light to light them up, partly the reason i fitted one after yobs on speed boat tore up cookham past the meadow sent everyone flying. Pop a light on them and they soon bu**er off.

Hope it didn't ruin a nice day out, we poped down the the bounty for a swift half, nice day out.

One of those 3 million candlepower handheld spotlights shone in their eyes would stop them long enough to allow you to get past...'.I was just illuminating them to take a photograph your honour! I was unaware that it would cause temporary blindness and that they would fall into the water and drown'.

<hr width=100% size=1>Err, let me know if Depsol enters the forum, I'll go and hide

Had a similar experience out kayaking a few years ago one of the lads I was with said "oh! oh! they're back again" and pulled out a catapult and a handfull of marbles and starts firing a few off. kids diving in all directions as these marbles bounce off the rocks. legally dodgy, but very funny.

On another occasion someone cast into the middle of my group after we'd gone through the pierheads at St PP. The tackle landed just beyond me and the line drifted down across my boat - big cheer from the yobs - untill I got hold of the line and took a couple of turns around my paddle then procedded to do battle with the prat in an effort to get his rod off him. Eventually the line broke or he cut it, I've still got the scars on my paddles where the line cut in.

Probably the best bet is a camera or video IMHO

OK OK - now totally embarassed! There I was, sailing past in antisocial oblivion... would have been delighted to have ferried u and SWMBO across the water... u'd have had serious difficulty, tho, if my (10yo) daughter had clapped eyes on bogbrush... u'd never have seen it again

Happier note tho - u
a) wouldn't have lost ur spot at the Palace
b) Wouldn't have needed to worry about it getting fed - we had plenty of barbie stuff on board
c) Wouldn't have done ur bit to support Kingston printers!

lol - "nice guy called Richard who has Fairline" as opposed to "oik Hany who has Fairline" :)

Apologies again!

H

PS On main point... spotlight, camera, phone... :)
PPS U could have used our slot at Teddington Harbour and gone into the Wharf! :)

mines only 100,000 so might get away with it, that or following some of the coments on this thread, light them up with a spotlight, shoot them with an air gun, then take a nice photo :)

Might even get into scuttlebut !!!
