why Sealine?

Re: why Sealin?

they are generally more spacious inside compared to princess/fairline etc. Often have innovative features in design.
build quality not bad but arguably not as good as princess et al. I have owned princess and sealine and didnt thing much difference on 1990s boats.
sea keeping OK but not perfect. Newer models Im told are very good at sea.
good value for money - especially if you are a fair weather sailor (most are)

Own one of the last S28's to be built, and we went for it, due to the superb standard of fit, coupled with the the spacious accomodation, and good sea manners.

It does everything we could possibly ask of it.

Earlier boats sold on use of space & value for money, trading customers up the line. Several models e.g. S28, F37, F43, T51 were right up with there with the class leaders at the time, although maybe were not as "sexy" in the styling department.

Newer models are more design orientated: SC35 has love it or hate it styling, good sea keeping for it's size, and a minimalist interior design (some might say a bit too minimalist, not traditional "boaty" interior).

We bought our F33 as it was great value for money for our first boat! Compared with other models on the market, we found it had the best use of space, was well built and reliable.

In late 2006, I purchased a 2005 S38, with twin D4 260,s ,after trading up from a S28. Superb interior design. More space needed as my son was now a teenager , growing all the time , as were his friends that came out with my wife and i at weekends.
The boat has performed very well, although we have had a warranty issue . Sealine took control of matters and arranged for necessary work to be carried out , even though i did not purchase from new.
Excellent after sales / warranty assistance from Sealine. I think their reputation is maybe a factor in the purchasing process. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

We've had seven in total - 255/290/210/F33/2 x S37, and our current S41. Good value for money boats and very spacious. The Targa 40/Princess V42 for example are no bigger inside that our old Sealine S37.

Our current S41 is simply huge inside, two heads, two showers etc. The massive double aft cabin has 6'3" standing room (except over the bed), a dressing table, settee, two wardrobes and en suite facilities. The forward cabin also has a large double, and heads with a separate shower room.

Not as good a hull as the Olesinski boats, but with a 13' 4" beam, it's never going to be. Finish is generally good, though I concede not as flash as Fairline. All in all great boats (not so sure about the latest generation design however).

We bought our first boat, an S34 for its cost/size.

I did prefer the Fairline Targa 34 style wise but for the same age as our sealine was a good 30k more and not as spacious inside.

We moved this year from a Fairline Phantom 38 to a SC38. The Sealine SC38 has handled very well in the rough stuff including F6 wind against tide off Portland Bill and F7 over Chichester Bar.

Accomodation is really good, the cabins are very spacious. Dealer support (Sealine South Coast) has been excellent and the SC38 was significantly cheaper than the smallest Fairline Taga.

Great value for money

I'm on my third.
Same price as equivalent Fairline, Princess, Sunseeker but beamier with only a couple of knots penalty on top speed. Great, safe family boats with a superb finish. I'm still not converted to the latest designs though, so if there is a next boat I wouldn't automatically go Sealine

I think that the problem with the new design in that it forgot what the Sealine trademark look is about

too much image change, Brunswick IMO did a big mistake in this
I like the new SC 35 and 47 on looks, but hey it could have been badged Copperline, Brand Identity equals zero and that is why many SL owners here are not convinced

I love mine to bits. S29. single handing is easy. she performs magnificently in bad conditions but have low hull number and issues that took a long time to resolve....and some still not sorted!!! another Sealine? probably but don't tell them.
think there is a certain amount of love the marque to love the marque though.
