We have been watching this window in the weather for two weeks....it’s shrinking all the time...but it’s still there and tomorrow we are planning to go out (can I explain, the weather has been glorious.....just too windy)...today I even bought a new tool box for the boat...got tired of my higgledy-piggledy collection of tools and wanted something more organized so when I say to the wife, pass me a wrench, she doesn’t have to guess where I might keep it...tonight while eating dinner, my tooth broke in two...I’ve got an appointment Friday at the dentist....will probably need a crown (another €500 down the pan)...but now I’m nervous...it doesn’t hurt, but it’s sensitive to the touch and cold ...I fear it could be a ticking time bomb

It has been a beautiful day…but I was a little apprehensive about my broken tooth so we only went dog walking






If it’s still good tomorrow and I have a pain free night we might just go for a day trip

Well I am truly in the doghouse now …after missing out on yesterday’s perfect weather because of my tooth…today was even better and with much anticipation we were about to set off…when the bow thruster failed WT$£%#
We called the boatyard…and they are closed (funeral I think)…so back to dog walking

Yes it can be done…but my berth is very tight and I don’t want to spoil the day with a stressful single engine manoeuvre later in the day

Here I have finally bit the bullet and winterised the engine yesterday, still to drain off the fresh water tank - no idea how much is in it, it does hold 100 litres same amount as the diseasel tank

Tight? the bow of the 'ship' that has the berth behind mine overhangs my stern and I have about 1.5m in front to the next boat. coming alongside is fun
Watching the guy take his boat in behind mine he has one of those dockmate remote control things, twin engines with bow and stern thrusters he parked it up in no time, all the time standing in the cockpit.

Despite not going out…we still managed to enjoy the sunset on the boat…we will enjoy the night for tomorrow is the dentist

It was windy last night over 50 knots.....I had a new cover on my dingy on the fly bridge ...just a cheapie, I needed to tent it ...otherwise the rain will pool and destroy it in one night...couldn’t think of what to do...then I got a brainwave !...the wife’s Pilates ball...and it worked. Only problem was I didn’t tie it down very well and when I inspected it today the cover was off and the Pilates ball was gone...luckily I found it in the sea where it got stuck between the jetty and the sea wall. Anyhow it’s all secured now
