Can anyone recomend a white antifoul which stays white above the waterline?
I know I shouldn't be painting antifoul above the waterline but the previous owner had painted up to the chine line at the bow about 10inches above the waterline, I used interspeed ultra colour dover white last season and this went a grey colour and looked awful. Any ideas?

Hi,

International Trilux is designed to be used above the waterline as a boot-top as well as normal anti-foul. I have used the white and can vouch for its lasting colour!!

It is a hard antifoul so is also sutable for high speed/scrubbing.

Wouldnt even bother- did this in my first season of ownership. Complete pain having to mask up underwater from waterline and waterline to gelcoat. In my opinion the interspeed doesnt work sufficiently better than trilux, so you are better off using trilux below the waterline too.

Incidentally- have you tried gently removing a section of the antifoul to the chine that you dislike so much? It may turn out that the gelcoat below it is not too badly scored and could be polished out again...... that way you get rid of the problem of using white and could just use good old dark blue all over and not see the grime!

blue not really an option as boat has a very dark green upper hull colour. Stripping the old antifoul looks like a lot of hard work but will look at the weekend, weather permiting.

I would recommend you try Awlgrip Gold Label, I have been using it on my boats for the last nine years. It has been very effective here in the high-fouling Med and it does stay white above the waterline.
