The Screwfix reviews of 'Titan' wet & dry vacs are very positive and seem to say they're much better value than a Henry...

...£40 for the 16-litre Titan, versus £120 for a much smaller 6-litre Henry from Curry's.

I have one of these for working on the boat:

But only £40.93 from Mower Express including VAT and free next-day delivery.
Mower Express Ltd Ryobi 7 Litre Wet && Dry Vacuum EWD-5570

There may be better offers; I haven'y checked.

I have had mine about 10 years and can't recommend it too much. It is light, and the cloth filter bags are washable. Also the big handle on top makes it easy to move around the boat or hang from the boom if working on deck.,

Can it be used without a bag?

I think the Screwfix one works either way. I've no idea how...I thought if it can be used without, nobody would choose to need to change or empty bags - especially if they need buying rather than reusing.

Mine is some unbranded thing off either eBay or Amazon... can't remember exactly... same principle as a Henry but quite a bit smaller which is good for the boat.

The only real downsides of it are
a) it is LOUD, much much louder than a Henry.
b) the air outlet is a single point. This has the advantage that you can also put the hose on it (incredibly fast way to get a dinghy inflated to ~90%) but it's surprising how often I ended up plugging the hose in to the wrong place and blasting sawdust everywhere. User error really!
