chandler n.
1. a dealer in a specified trade or merchandise: corn chandler; ship's chandler.
2. a person who makes or sells candles.
3. Brit. obsolete. a retailer of grocery provisions; shopkeeper.
[from Old French chandelier one who makes or deals in candles, from chandelle {candle}]
So strictly speaking we should always use an additional noun as in Boat Chandler etc

<font color=blue>What do we call someone like Pheran? He was a Procurer. he used to stand outside dimly lit doorways in Soho trying to get punters to come in, being a Philanderer in his off duty hours was he Philandering Pheran Procuring Punters Chandler?

When I sailed the seas on giant oiltankers, the flying bridge usually referred to the raised gangway between the after and midships accomodation blocks.

The following definition I find quite droll:

Flying-bridge - Poser platform on plastic fantastic. Best used for G & T when there is no 'R' in the month.
