Ok, we're going off on some tangents here..
It's a 240v Outlet.. NOT Shore Power Inlet

The plate is this:

PANASONIC WEATHER PROOF PLATE (WIDE SERIES)
with a 3 pin switched UK socket internal ..

Attached is a poor pic of the existing one.. It's to the left in the picture next to the drinks holders.. You can see it's located on the covered rear deck next to the flybridge steps.. And yes it's very flush and very discreet so no chunky surface boxes etc to replace it..

Hope that helps..

Out of interest what are the likes of Princess, Sunseeker, Fairline etc using for 240v cockpit sockets (outlet not inlet)? They usually go for fairly cool designs so I'd be interested what they have going on..

The one he has isn't 😵‍💫 looks more like the fourth one I posted. 13 Amp Flush Mains Outlet W4 20039
I can't quite see how that one works Alex. With the socket in the position shown in the picture you wouldn't be able to plug anything in. It look as though the socket isn't fixed in place. There's another picture of it here : https://www.groveproducts.co.uk/w4-flush-mains-outlet-oblong

This one is also on the same page https://www.groveproducts.co.uk/w4-waterproof-mains-outlet-13amp

Sorry Paul, you have lost me completely on that. I thought the link I gave was almost identical to the link the OP gave in #26. I can't identify the socket in the picture in that post?
I see what you mean about the socket being loose but it does say that it can be secured with a self adhesive pad. I don't think that it is beyond the wit of man to be able to fix it with a couple of small screws.
All round doesn't look as though there is one easy solution, at best we are at least giving him some ideas.

Strewth, we're making a meal out of this a bit..

Here is a pic of a very similar cover from Panasonic. As you should see, it's for sale in Thailand which is a long way for a replacement socket!! These all seem for sale in the far east. Now imagine a flat switched 3 pin socket attached to this cover and hey presto. That's what is installed from factory on my boat..

edit- There is a thin rubber seal (not visible) on the back of the sprung lid which offers some water protection. It's location dictates it isn't directly attacked by the elements.

If the socket was fixed in place, how would you plug anything in, see here : https://www.groveproducts.co.uk/w4-flush-mains-outlet-oblong

The socket is right at the bottom of the housing, at the back. What do those triangle shaped bit on the inside of the lid do, do they pull the socket forward when you open the lid ? Just curious how it works, that's all. ;)

Yes I've seen that, hence my original question (way back when Televisions were black n white) if anyone had bought anything similar this side of the world. They're also a bit on the flimsy side so a good time to upgrade a bit too..

You're in the same situation I found my self in a couple of years back.
the lid in the cockpit area had broken but also a socket in the galley (all the same make)
The socket I manage to locate in Italy and bought just a couple of the internal sockets.
and the enclosure lid I found local to me in Yorkshire.
all the Sockets on the boat where European and just wanted to sick to original.

Difficult isn't it? You assume something as simple as a power socket would be sorted in about 5 minutes. But some of the parts come from all over the globe. :D
