Our new boat arrives begining of May and we are putting together a "Chandlery Shopping List".

So which flare pack to buy? We will take delivery of our new boat in Ipswich, keep her on the East Coast for say 4 - 6 weeks, then sail her across to Vlissingen, whereupon she will enter the Dutch inland water system and probably never go more than coastal sailing, at least not within the life of the flare pack!

So do I buy a coastal pack or an offshore pack? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

I think the crossing to Holland is going to take you well over what I would call coastal sailing. So for the extra cash I think the offshore pack is a must. You may find you need it for insurance anyway.

both, compared to the cost of the boat it's no big deal
but, i'd spend my time in ipswich checking the new boat was sound before the trip home & don't rush it, see pbo articles for "how i got myself into trouble"
