Where to find a sailing woman?

You aren't half radical. On our previous boat the drill was always that K brings the boat in and I do the fenders, with a few discrete hand signals. It worked really well. On our new boat K thinks it's enormous and won't bring her in. God knows why, but that's life.

I'm available in 3 shades of underwear, but won't do 'hard stuff'. You should know that, when I cut my nails, I sell the clippings to Vosper Thorneycroft.

Always interested in slim SHMBO's and I still have a provocative dental problem. Who is this Richard anyway??

Just had an hour off to do the ironing. To be fair, (aren't I always) I expect that those of you who sail with female partners do really share the hard with the easy jobs. But you all must have seen some poor woman trying to haul a boat into a berth while the man stands shouting orders and fiddling with the engine. I remember a couple where the wife was on the foredeck trying to sort out the anchor and stop a small child from falling overboard, while HWMBO stood shouting at her. Finally she lost her temper and shouted back in a soprano voice that carried for miles 'If you bl**dy well told me what you wanted me to do in the first place instead of shouting all the time then I would bl**dy well do it!'
We all felt for her, all the other women within earshot that is.
I am sure that Tome is very fetching in multicoloured underwear, as I am sure that Mrs. Tome chose them. But what would VT do with nail clippings?

There's nowt worse than hearing an arrogant bull shouting at his missus when coming alongside. For us it's teamwork, and I love the bit when it's done and we sit down and toast our modest achievement. We never need to shout, thank God. In the situation you describe it's not only the wimmin who cringe.

As for VT, I believe they build some warships and I like to think that that's where my clippings add a little hull strength. I cannot deny that the multicolours are chosen by Mrs Tome.

Anyway, back to the ironing for you!

I can vouch for this. Mine originated from Orkney, but I found her in Greece on a boat in the Ionian. Very good value.

Hello Dear, are you reading this?

Re: interesting observation

They must be all them Muslim types. I can't even afford the first wife, the way she's going on. Where would I keep a second?

What other delights of ruined attempts a femininity can we dream up..

running mascara, hairy pits and legs, mildewed lippy, frayed thongs, ropey bras.. heavens the list is endless!
