Well, simple really, looks like the Greek War of Independence where the battle was fought in the Bay of Navarino in the Ionian Sea.
Where is this? - My first time!

Navarino Bay it is, with the village of Pilos just there.... Or Navarone as the area is also known..... hence the guns of navarone, though I don't think they existed!

Well, Mr LymingtonPugwash, I hope you don't mind me saying stuff the teddy bear! How about the next time you see Dorinda
at the Town Quay - either June or definately August this year, pop along with a COLD plastic bottle of Supermarket Dry Cider and make a formal presentation.
I tell you, it is a pain walking up the highstreet into Tescos and putting one of those plastic cider bottles in the deep freezes, hidden for an hour to cool and then returning to find its been put back on the shelf /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif

Ian.... you'll be waiting a long time for me to see you on the Town Quay at Lymington now! I've been long gone and am all over the place now.... in Greece at the moment!
No chance of even wild horses dragging me back to the UK now I'm afraid... so take a sail in the Med and I'll meet you and treat you to a Greek meal with some ouzo and all the trimmings! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Thanks. If you fancy a really,really long day sail, head out of harbour, turn to starboard and keep going. Try to avoid colliding with Malta and you will eventually hit my home town of Torrevieja (give or take a few minutes it is at the same latitude of Athens) and I will meet you with a jarra of Sangria.

¿Bien, and que tal todo?
¡Mierda! ¿Tengo que hablar Espanol? Mi barco tiene 7 metros en largo y alrededor de Torrevieja, hay pocos lugares que puedo nevegar que son cerca. Pero, en el Solent hay muchos puertos y todos son muy cerca a Portsmouth. Tambien, en las marinas Mediteranneas, es muy barato para amarras y yo, yo no soy rico /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif
Tambien, tengo que aprendar mas Español /forums/images/graemlins/ooo.gif
Oh and as an Edit. We have a lot of Fins living here in Torrevieja. They speak not only Suomi, but English and Spanish very well. They are also very, very good at tenpin bowling.
