I have had my boats compounded and polished in the past but I never really know when is the best time of the year to have it done, My current boat does need doing but it is not desperate, should I leave it until the spring time (when everyone is busy) or get it done now?

Opinions greatly received.

Compounding should only be neccesary if its really ingrained/dull.
Otherwise, I get it cleaned up at end of season so its waxed over winter. Also means you can check on any dings, dents and scratches that I might not have noticed. In Spring it usually only needs a light polish and rewax. I have a large all over cover, though.
But in terms of the life of the gelcoat, I doubt a few months makes any difference.

Thanks for your reply, the boat is a bit dull in places so probably doesn't need an all over cut and polish but I think it will need it at some point, I just want sure if it would pay to leave it until next year or do it now!
