Talking to my other half last night we agree on a name for the new boat - uring the process she cam up with a male name and pointed out that if she was the skipper she would call it a male name and refer to the boat as HE!!!

I have always thought of a boat as SHE.

Am I right or is she right?

Boats are definetly female cos........
They cost a lot to get in the first place
They cost a lot to upkeep and maintain
They allways have to be immaculatly turned out whatever the cost
They seldom go were there told
You get little or nothing for them when there old
There are lots about but you have no time to test drive them all
And even if you did you would probably want the first one.

Small print........

I accept no responsibility for anything relating to the above
Nor do I admit to any extra marital road testing

Serious reply is that many boats have male names (cant think of many examples, but there are loads, eg Big Roi) or neuter names but they're still referred to as "she"
