When does your season start

... or the dates for available lifts at the boatyard.
I cannot launch 9000kg of boat on my own.

Also there are other things to sort out during the Winter.
Plus a break from boating makes me re-boaterised when it all starts up again.
I lift mine apring or summer. Far nicer doing jobs in the warm. Much quicker too so less downtime. And too much nice boating to miss in winter.

This forum has users from all over the world who have their boat in different circumstances than Bigplumbs.

It is NOT OCD to take the boat out before snowstorms and freezing weather encase everything in ice, or to take it out before leaving it for several months in regions where the weather can be vicious.

With all due respect, it's actually pretty arrogant to say others have OCD just because they don't do what you do.

Not specifically aimed at this thread as you see it all over, and I know I've been just as guilty in the past. But, there's a trend these days to attribute people's actions to mental health problems.
OCD is one of those conditions that I've seen people adopt as a badge of honour simply because they like to keep things clean and others belittle people for the same reason.
Not a subject for here, I accept that, but to make light of such conditions increases the difficulty in encouraging people to come forward and seek or offer help and the consequences of that can be serious.

As you wish. I did not mean leaving them in where they will clearly get damaged and yes some people live in other parts of the world......... I still maintain that in the UK some people just follow along and do what they have done year on year following their spreadsheets and doing the same one same old year on year as I said driven by OCD.

I was not making light of the issue I was highlighting it which may help some............. Some people are not even aware they have it. What I do know is often people who have OCD feel compelled in some way to cause others to behave the same regarding certain of their actions

Is OCD owning a lot of boats .

I aim to get the anti-fouling, etc done in April, then have a shakedown cruise to Diélette for 3 days. It is usually an idyllic 5 hour trip as Guernsey and Sark protect from the westerly swells.

Today..................

All male grand kids and SIL aboard and off to Queenborough ATL.
This was not some idle pleasure cruise , purely need to check how much muck was on the bottom.
Not much apparently. 25.5 knots.:)
All the female section curiously had a lie in and turned up at the resturant by road.
They were all in there, drinks in hand, when we arrived !
About 25 folks in pub aged two to eighty two a real club get together.

Lunch in the Queen Phillipa.
Some other visitors.
This lot had already been up to Allington Lock before coming down for a pint at the pub at top of slipway.

and back up to RCC just after dusk

It looks greyer in the photo than in reality (must clean the glass doors)…it’s actually surprisingly warm…but no sun at the moment…the wind is calm and that is all I care about

The wind is calm and all the diesel is inside the diesel tank.

Very few other boats around , timber boat unloading on one the the wharfs, couple of yachts under way , one of whom actually waved at us :) and the need to stay outside the exclusion zone for the monster LNG tanker moored at Grain.
Two other motorcruisers moored at Queenborough ATL, they did not stay long and headed off in the direction of E****x shortly after our arrival.

Next organised cruise at Easter to St Kats and Limehouse.
