What would you spend £1000 on?

Holding tank ?
Well spotted.
I would say it is essential if you are going to the Netherlands. For a long while, there has been a black water discharge ban on inland and coastal waters.
That and two long ropes for the sea lock at Vlissingen - the other locks we have been in do not have a large drop/rise.

Whan he meets the bikini clad young lady’s who paddle board … he may be more interested than in skate parks.

A grand for a holding tank? The bits for ours cost £130. Admittedly, a great deal of slave labour was required too.

Buy a portapotti & put it in the heads compartment whilst in the netherlands. In most cases one will not need it as facilities are available.
As for Flushing lock---do what i did when SH last month. Tie the spring to one of the ladders & work one's way up or down with the change in level.

Flushing lock would seem to be a poetic place to void one’s holding tank…..

Waiting for the quote for the enclosure, do you know anyone in Poole or around who could help with hot water installation and charges reasonable money?

Thanks, I scrolled back and took a look. Been thinking about having a tent/bimini structure made and interesting to see how others have done it.
Hopefully its clear in the photos. Normal sprayhood with a zip 2” forward of top back edge. 1 hoop hinged about 1/2 way along cockpit coaming, slopes aft about 40 degrees when in use
