What would be in your fantasy fleet?

I hear where you're coming from but wouldn't you ever want to head a little further afield and stay on board, perhaps with a friend or six?

Not really. I love boats but think they are a rubbish means of getting from A to B and even quite big ones are pretty cramped and poky. I'd rather spend my accommodation budget (my money not your £5mio, thanks all the same) on something shoreside with a dock for my Rivas.

I'd want a big Sports Cruiser, something like a Targa 63GTO in Ibiza.

Something long range / trawler style, like an Azimut Magellano 66 for the Eastern Med.

And finally something nostalgic like an Intermarine 37 Cigarette with big V8's and jets in "The Spy Who Loved Me" colours. Maybe keep that one in Sardinia where the film was shot.

revealed my slightly off kilter boat desires. But that would probably do me.... although with the substantial balance I would spend a bit on restoring my Mitchell and repowering with a Cummins QSB 425hp, oh and I would take the crew member, not to crew but to just to wash them all regularly..

I'd go for a Princess S60:

... but I'd have three of them, all identical: One in SoF, one on the UK south coast, and one in Florida. That should do it :encouragement:

Ooh, Safehaven Marine. Didn't think about them. I might need a Barracuda SV11 as well. Damn it, why did I only allow three per fleet!

I would have a Rodman Muse 74 in the med for meandering about, with Sleipner stabilisers
a Fjord 42 open in Ibiza/Mallorca, for fast fun days, on the crews' annual day off.
for crew I would have Scarlett Johansson,

I was looking at this vessel in Vancouver a few months ago and thought it might be your cup of tea, James, with the benefit of Hugo's fantasy money:

I'd commission a replica of HSL102 in a super light carbon build with a pair of CRMs. It needs to do 70 knots.

A Flemming at least a 55, Uk based, but cruising northern Europe. Not the med.

Fairey Huntsman 707 Fordsport. Even with big money they wont part with her and still leave her to rot I'd hire a hit man. Then I'd rebuild her myself.

Riva Aquarama at the bottom of the garden as a TT the Southerly 57rs (or bigger equivalent now) in the marina down river in the UK and a Sunseeker 86 in the Med. Simples. (I would however be skint just buying them) :disgust:

The £5m is unlikely to be enough for the following fleet, to be honest. But hey, did you say fantasy...?

I would start with a Delta Marine 70 to cruise the PNW first (possibly based in Vancouver, which is a lovely town), and after that to be moved down under, through Hawaii and Polinesia, eventually reaching NZ.

As my Sardinian home, a Sanlorenzo SD92 would suit me fine, while the crew take care of crossing the Pacific with the DM.
I'm in fact happy to leave to them the part which is boring at best and scary at worst...

And since neither of the above vessels are exactly exciting to drive, a DCB M35 with a pair of twin turbo Merc 1550 would be a nice toy to keep in Lake Como, also because with that I could try to give Buzzi a run for his money, when he's around with his world record diesel hydroplane, capable of "only" 172mph...

Good choices. I would just have the SS 86 for it's great range, and cruise the Aegean in summer and then ship it to the Caribbean in November every year.
