Hi, I'm collecting the parts for this job which I'm hoping to get an engineer to do. Any recommendations in the Portsmouth area would be welcome.
So far, I have bought 6 new Bosch injectors which I believe are the correct part numbers. I have also got 6 new sleeves in original Volvo boxes with what I believe is the correct part no. (VP - 861255). The cylinder head on my engine is the early version which has the "short" sleeves.
Problem is that, firstly, the injectors are a very sloppy fit in the point or spigot of the sleeves, whereas I had expected them to be quite tight. Secondly, the outer diameter of the point or spigot is 11.05mm whereas the workshop manual states that the receiving hole in the head is 10.3mm for the later sleeves and a smaller hole for the earlier ones. It doesn't actually give the size for these.
The sleeves I have are the correct length for the "short" version but it seems to me that they are unlikely to fit into the head. There must be something wrong here but I don't know what, if anyone can help here I would be grateful.
