Over the last couple of months I've been trying to save my business from "Nu Labour", so I've not been here much. I've had God almighty problems getting on-line just to find that everything has changed ~ for the worst.

I can't understand the new format so after 10+ years as TheBoatman I'm outta here ~ we're down we're gone ~ bye-bye!

Silly boy.

You failed to notice the main difference! This forum software actually works, no more of the server database lockups that cursed the previous system.

Patience, Dear Boy, is all that is required.
I am no techie but an ancient mariner who took all of 5 minutes to get to grips with the new system which I find to be superior in all respects to the former.

Who gives a SH 1 T

I'm having trouble with this new layout ~ ybw have sent me 2 emails requesting that I up-date my bio ~ I checked it and apparently my DOB is the 30th November 2009. So according to ybw I'm posting this 2 months before I was born!!!

Funny really, as this coming week I'll be 57?

I have a wife, 3 kids, a goldfish and a dog that bites me, and yet ybw thinks that they have to wait 2 months for me to be born?????

Sureal doesn't even begin to explain it.

Good morning:

I don't know if you have any experience with forum programs but having set up a forum on my site, I think YBW have done a great job changing from one format to another.

So what if there are a few mistakes - simply change the information and get on with life. It is no big deal when all is said and done.

What do you expect YBW or other forum users to do? Beg you to continue viewing this site??

Cheers

I am just amazed that people capable of navigating with all the electronic equipment availble find it difficult to navigate this site.
the whole set up is brilliant, easy and intuitive.whats more the opportunity to express opions ,receive distilled wisdom, all for free is nothing short of fantastic.long may it continue

excellent post, keep 'em coming. We need the laughs.

PS. If you think that sprogs like yourself find difficulty with the Frohum, spare a thought for the Zimmer-set brigade. It does work much better honestly; it's like getting into a different car, and turning the wipers on to find that you have energised the ejector seat, and the dog is now flying 500 feet above you.

It does work well.

It does work well.

Like moving from a 1973 Ford to a 2005 Toyota, yer lose "character" and a lot of familiarity - but in exchange you get reliability and things which were gizmos in 1973 but are now basic requirements.............even if the stalk controls are now on the other side of the steering column :rolleyes Same same for the internet.

To stretch the car analogy even further  the old forum was 3 cars welded together. 3 kit cars :D

IMO the big PLUS with this forum software is that it is so widely used elsewhere - simply saves learning new Forums from scratch
