What make/model do you think the boat is?

Hey guys,

So, ive had this boat a while now, and im working on it to get it looking like new, but I am still not 100% sure what the boat is! I have asked across a few online boating forums, and so far NOBODY seems to know....

I have had some people tell me it is a Ring 18, others a Phantom, and some people think it is a shakespeare but all have been guesses, and nobody seems to know for sure.

So, Here is all of the info I have on it, and I wondered if we could get some views from people here and try and make a positive ID.

The boat is 18ft in length
There is no plaque with any identity information
I found the following "SS312" under the windshield / interiour section (see image below).

The front of the boat is a single point, not a smooth curve as I have seen in a lot of shakespeare images.

Suggestions on a postcard to.. PO box! AHHHH!

Old Plancraft, no longer in business, the last offerings were from a shed just next to Chessington World of Adventures, that said they built a shed load over the years and probably with different owners...

oooo, that does look quite close to it (excluding size etc). Although, the front of the boat is missing the raised section / shape, and has a curved front, not a point (maybe due to it being shorter).

from the side tho, it is quite close.

ooo! Actually, now you have said that. it does sound very familiar... When i sanded down the boat, I managed to find some lettering (I assumed the name of the boat).

It was "Landcraft"

It was too faint to catch on camera, and only just shows up when the sun catches it at the right angle. I checked the lettering on both sides of the boat.

Ive spent a bit of time doing some googling, but haven't managed to find much information on Plancraft, which isn't too surprising if they are not about anymore.

Do you happen to know any more info that may be useful? Ideally i am trying to find an image of the original model, because i really want to restore it to how it was

This boat is listed as a Sabre 16 and the back end certainly looks similar.

Hi Guys,

Its a Mk2 Plancraft Sabre, great boat for the time, built so many over the years, See www.plancraft.co.uk, we are still about still building great strong boats, as well as RIB's nowdays. Even do a Sabre RIB!!!
Just lanched and doing well.
