Why not use 3 legs and forget about balance. Still doesn't do it for me. More likely a towing bridle or maybe anchor snubber of some sort. The next time I sell a boat I'm going to fabricate something like this that has no use on that boat and leave it behind for the new owner to post about on YBW.

I use a 3 leg lifting rig to lift my dingy on deck my lifting rig is attached to my spinnaker boom to prevent my dingy hitting the side of my boat but allows the dingy to swing on to the deck chocks

I just remove any loose items and the engine, attach halyard to the painter then haul it up until the tubes clear the guard wires

I have 2 rigid dingy one GRP the other homemade from frame and ply

My GRP sits on me for deck right side up but mt ply I store on my for-deck upside down only one at a time

Im going for a Bridle for any instance that requires a central fixing point eg stern anchor, sea anchor, tow line etc with the bobbins set to prevent chafe.
