It is a pity the ones with the power did not bother to intervene and had to be pushed by moderators.
The fact that they did not bother to even respond to a subscriber of their magazine says a lot about them and the company as a whole.
It would be very interesting to know how they came to the conclusion I was a business seller and where these Sonic Drives are for sale from this business seller that has vastly higher feedback than mums account !! Why didn't they bother to challenge in the first place?
I agree with 'FlowerPower' about the need to embrace these platforms as a business as, if handled correctly, can drive up business...

Perhaps that's why they've changed the rules and said that volunteer mods remain anonymous...? Unfortunately I've been here since the beginning when the volunteer mods were approached and our names were published. We actually have a lot more power nowadays than we did and can ban people. It's mostly used for spammers, although once or twice a Forumite has gone feral late at night and (probably in an alcohol induced haze) started posting things that he/she will only regret in the morning. The ability to suspend their account is useful in those cases (before they dig themselves into an even bigger hole.)
Edit: I should have said the although we have the power, we volunteer not to use it unless in extremis. If things are kicking off we have a chat with FAT and he talks action as appropriate. He gets paid. I get a (supposedly and when it turns up) free magazine subscription.

Forumites might also care to note that adverts for boats at any price are also banned (as well as links to boats for sale elsewhere as per #4). Apparently this is too difficult to state anywhere. Mods not to blame in anyway.
