What engines would you recommend?

Hi
I have 2xAD41p in my boat & they are great. Very easy to work on & very simple (reliable) I have had KAD 42s but they are a lot more complicated. My boat is a Fairline Targa. Which is best in your boat ? The KADS should power it very well whereas the 41s may struggle! We need a Sealine expert.
Regards MM1

its probably not much help but we have a pair of KAD 32s in our boat and they are great engines... they rattle a bit a low revs but have been brilliant. they have 800 hours on them now and they are still strong and relatively efficient.

KAD43's are just AD41's with a Supercharger and a few other mods. I would go 43's all day long, as the extra 30hp each will make a difference. They are not overly complicated, like the 44's and 300's with their 24 valves, and are just as reliable as the 41's. 41's are great, but extra HP with no downside, apart from possible supercharger noise, is a no brainer.

KAD43 all the way for more power. Essentially the same engine as mentioned above, with the addition of a supercharger.... that supercharger makes all the difference!

Agree with all the above. I have 2 x 43's with 1200 hours and not missed a beat. The superchargers make all the difference when getting on the plane, beyond that there's not much difference.

If you spend a lot of time at a slow cruise ...those superchargers make a noise.
Chum has got pair in a Fairline Brava which he uses on the Thames. On the flybridge it sort of fades into the background.
Anywhere downstairs they make a wearysome racket .Possibly not a problem on the Targas being out in the open and not in enclosed area..

Its a difficult choice as both engines have their merits and both are suitable for the F34. If given the choice of two I would probably chose the best condition best maintained boat .

No F34 yet, a few weeks ago looked at one in Scotland with 41's but the boat was inpretty poor condition. Hope you are enjoying yours.
