what does the chart symbol # mean?

ok so i don't have the chart 5011 or 5014 or whatever it is, but have not come across this before? TIA

It means 'Foul area, not dangerous to surface navigation, but to be avoided by vessels anchoring, trawling etc (eg remains of wreck)
