Hi folks
Would like to charter a yacht in the med next year. I have a day skipper ticket. Do I need another ticket or is that sufficient.
Cheers

There are at least 18 countries surrounding 'the Med' and one within it. No doubt requirements for chartering vary considerably across these. As suggested, asking the charter company seems like a good idea but investing in an ICC will certainly help in some of those countries who will not recognise your day skipper.

Besides the ICC or some such a VHF operator certificate aka Marine Radio Short Range Certificate (SRC) is needed in some countries.

To sail in the North Ionion on a flotilla with Sailing Holidays you don't need anything. All other areas as far as I can tell need at least one person with ICC or Day Skipper. Some require two people qualified on board.

As said above it varies. :)

The Croatian authorities insist on a VHF ticket, but judging by the standard of seamanship I've witnessed on several charter holidays out there the bar really can't be that high with regard to qualifications.

The other thing you need for chartering in Croatia is pots of money. Croatian marinas charge up to 60 Euro a night for a 40' berth, diesel was well over a Euro a litre in 2018 and all the quiet little bays you used to anchor in overnight for free had mooring buoys laid, and the moment you picked one up some harbour operative would motor over and relieve you of a handful of notes.
